* main verse : son of former shirai ryu ninja hanzo joins the clan his father had left. his life would soon turn when his wife, son, and family were killed by the sorcerer quan chi under the roose it was the lin kuei. after years of being a vengeful slave he refuses to ever be used again. now himself once more hanzo leads the rebuilt shirai ryu bettering himself every day.
* MK 1: in liu kang's new universe hanzo is a native outworlder who joins the shirai ryu where he marries and has a son with harumi. the shirai ryu though not bound by the empire holds a strong dedication to protecting outworld. a happy life seemed ahead of him, but it seems hanzo in every universe is afflicted by tragedy. after ths sorcerers quan chi and sheng tseng were changed from their meaningless lives from a mysterious benefactor they sought to bring tension and chaos among both outworld and earth realms respective clans. while sheng tsung deployed a plan to sabotage earth realms lin kuei, quan chi unrolled his own upon the shirai ryu. with the intention to make it seem earth realm's lin kuei attacked out worlds shirai ryu the sorcerer quan chi unleashed a convincing and fatal illusion upon the shirai ryu killing many. including hanzos family, then soon after, himself. quan chi used this opportunity to make hanzo into his spectre to aid in his and sheng tsungs benefactor's plans. hanzo, wrought by grief and anger eagerly becomes quan chi's puppet. his ruined destiny by the meddling of outer sources seemed to be his final undoing until the compassion of princess kitana ( @kutana )finds him. through her help she helps him rebuild his clan and find himself once more. with a rebuilt shirai ryu hanzo now holds the empires military highly and is indepted to princess kitana.CANON DIVERGENCIES : my hanzo, no matter what human restoration he recieved will always be a demon. while in spirit he has regained his humanity, that doesnt change the fact he was reborn from nether realm. his soul may be human, but his body is of netherrealm.

Wraith Physiology: Reborn from the fires of the Netherrealm, Scorpion is an undead wraith.
....* Hellfire Manipulation: Being a native of the Netherrealm, Scorpion can call upon and shape the realm's hellish flames.
....* Demon Fire: Scorpion summons hellfire under his opponent to scorch them.
....* Fire use: If long range combat is necessary, Scorpion can shoot a ball of hellfire from his palms. To psyche out the opponent, he can also delay or cancel its release.
....* Flame Engulf: Scorpion surrounds himself in flames, stunning any enemies caught in the aura upon creation. Anyone near Scorpion while the aura is up will be slowly consumed by his flames.
....* Toasty!: Scorpion rips off his mask to show his burning skull, then he breathes hellfire on the opponent to incinerate them. It is hot enough to vaporize enemies to dust.
....* fire resistant: scorpion reborn from netherealm and the ability to create its fires is in turn resistant to fire. capable of being blown by a flame thrower and having no reaction to it.
....* Hellfire Immunity: As a native of the Netherrealm, Scorpion is naturally impervious to any and all hellish flames.
Teleportation: If Scorpion ever needs to close the distance on his opponents, he can simply teleport over near them. Normally he teleports behind the opponent to land a surprise hit on their backs.
Netherrealm Portals: Aside from outright teleportation, Scorpion can also create portals to and from the Netherrealm. He does this to return home and trap opponents with him in Hell.
Undead Reforming: Should his body ever get destroyed via physical force, Scorpion will eventually reform in the Netherrealm.
Immortality: Because he's undead, Scorpion has no longer ages.
Netherrealm Boost: Whenever Scorpion returns to the Netherrealm, his power begins to rise. The longer he remains there, the stronger he becomes, with all the boosts disappearing as he leaves.
Enhanced Awareness: Scorpion is capable of tracking targets that are far away. This proved useful when he could still sense Quan Chi even though he was nowhere in his sight after Quan Chi escaped the Netherrealm and fled to Outworld.
Summoning: Scorpion is capable of summoning demonic Netherrealm minions that can attack and hold the enemy in place. They can also self-destruct, and the resulting explosion vaporizes the enemy's flesh out of the skeleton. He also has the ability to summon giant flaming skulls that can fly and shoot explosive projectiles and breathe fire.
BIOGRAPHY
hanzo Hasashi was the son of a former ninja from the Shirai Ryu clan. Hanzo was forbidden from ever joining the clan because his father did not want him to live the dangerous life of an assassin. When times got tough for the family, however, Hanzo reluctantly joined the Shirai Ryu to provide for his loved ones. Hanzo had proven to be the clan's best warriors, gaining the clans traditional title scorpion. one night hanzo's clan was attacked by the lin kuei. his clan all killed including his wife and son and soon after himself. filled with anger and grief in death his soul refused to be torn apart in netherealm. impressed by hanzo's ability to remain so willful the necromancer quan chi encountered hanzo and offered him a chance at life once more and a chance to avenge his family and clan. hanzo accepted this unbeknownst to him that he would become quan chi's spectre bound by magic to do his bidding, influenced by his will, and motivated by nothing by vengeance. hanzo had become a new scorpion: the undead demonic spectre scorpion.after years of doing quan chi's biddings satified simply by the chance of being able to achieve vengeance scorpion performed evil without discrimination if it meant killing sub - zero. the man who had murdered his family. within the anger filled demon scorpion lay the weak ideals of hanzo. he would battle weak feelings of honor, but ultimately the influence of anger remained superior. when the opportunity to kill sub zero arose there was a brief moment he clung to honor. ultimately, grief and wrath won. he killed sub zero after all these years but satsifaction would not be his as expected.the pain still remained even had he convinced himself vengeance was all he sought to relieve his sorrow.eventually, scorpions humanity is restored to him though the ability and demonic physiological nature remained. hanzo was no longer bound by quan chi's influence and was his own man. but, the pain had only gotten worse. years of being used as a puppet by quan chi doing unspeakable evil, the still unsettled grief of his wife, son, and clan had paid its toll upon him. all that met him knew him as the evil scorpion, those he loved were dead, and he struggled to understand how to be himself after all these years. it wasn't until the new sub-zero , brother to the one hanzo had killed as spectre scorpion, had showed hanzo compassion. sub zero would then alert hanzo of something he had never knew all these years... that the lin kuei nor sub zero ( the original ) never attacked or killed hanzos family. it was all quan chi's doing. hanzo had been a puppet to the murderer himself, family, and clan. reluctantly, hanzo accepted sub zero's aid. together sub zero assisted hanzo rebuild his clan, bring a peaceful era between the lin kuei and shirai ryu, as well as nursed hanzos broken spirit.now, hanzo learns every day to live with the pain his past has brought him. to honor his family instead of simply grieve. to lead the newly restored shirai ryu as their new grand master. and ultimately, find peace with himself.

ive written hanzo a few years ago and have come back to him upon the release of mk 1. that goes to say there will be spoilers here. if youre not prepared for spoilers, do not follow.

i do not follow the hanzo canon within mk1 where he is a child. i have my own au for mk1 for my hanzo.
i adore ships. and yes, i do super ship hanzo x kuai liang so dont be scared to talk about with me. that being said, despite me loving ships hanzo is very guarded and hard to deal with so i reccomend plotting ooc.
beside gore, mortal kombat includes a lot of serious issues despite its silly nature. be aware of sexual themes, cannibalism, and body horror
